Benefits include expanded seating options, airport recognition, and stronger service recovery during irregular operations, though the exact treatment varies by carrier. This addresses the gap where top-tier status often felt like ordinary Star Alliance Gold when crossing airline boundaries. No Lufthansa First Class lounge access for Global Services members, but the initiative should make travel more consistent for the joint venture's most valuable customers.

The new Hyatt-Aeroplan partnership mostly delivers poor value on conversions and redemptions — 50,000 Hyatt points for a 30,000 Aeroplan award, 2:1 point transfers in either direction, and 500 Aeroplan points per Hyatt stay are all bad. The bright spots: elite members get a $20 CAD Air Canada flight credit annually, and status challenges can unlock meaningful elite tiers.
