Cathay Pacific's 80th birthday promo gives 800 Asia Miles back for every 5,000 redeemed—a 16% rebate. But it's limited to economy and premium economy awards on Cathay Pacific metal, with travel from Hong Kong to any network destination or vice versa. No business class, no first class, no partner awards, and no transit connections qualify. The rebate caps at 80,000 miles per member, and you must book by August 27 for travel by December 10. If you transfer points, you also get a 10% transfer bonus, which could push total return to 26% on a 100,000-mile booking.

Leading Hotels of the World's Leaders Club, now an Amex transfer partner, uses a 4:1 transfer ratio from Membership Rewards points. Across Main Classic at 151,600 miles, Premium Select at 437,700, and Delta One at 990,400, all cabins land between 1.01 and 1.15 cents per mile, a tight band. The TakeOff 15 discount from any Delta co-branded Amex card drops Delta One to about 841,800 miles, moving the value to roughly 1.35 cents per mile. That discount only applies if every segment is Delta metal, so connecting onward to Barcelona on Air France kills the 15% on the whole ticket.

American's A321XLR, with 20 business, 12 premium economy, and 123 economy seats, is a fixed-configuration jet on nine named routes: Philadelphia to Edinburgh, Lisbon, and Amsterdam; JFK to Edinburgh, Barcelona, Los Angeles, and San Francisco; Boston to LAX and Philadelphia. The 155-seat layout is tight for premium-cabin awards, and with only a handful of units in service today and 44 more on order, award space on these long thin corridors will be scarce, not dynamic. Don't expect last-minute drops on JFK-EDI or PHL-LIS; the math is supply, not surge.

American's six new transatlantic routes, launched March-May 2026, add award opportunities on specific aircraft and seasonal windows.
