Emirates' Free Dubai Changes: Fare Differences Nullify the Perk

Emirates now lets travelers to Dubai change dates on any fare class unlimited times for free starting August 10, 2026. 'Free' only means no change fee—fare differences still apply and can be significant. Refund fees have dropped to $50 on Saver and $25 on Flex in economy, and similarly scaled in business. For network-wide tickets, only one free change is allowed. The flexibility is real but the cost is in the fare gap, not the fee.

Book a Saver fare to Dubai and use the $50 refund insurance; avoid paying for a Flex fare unless you expect a fare increase to eat the change gap.
