Eurowings will install eight Geven Comoda recliners in a 2-2 configuration at the front of its A320neo fleet, starting December 1 on Dusseldorf-London Heathrow, Dusseldorf-Mallorca, Berlin-Mallorca, and Dusseldorf-Malaga. The Premium BIZ seat, tested on Berlin-Dubai, offers 8 inches of recline, hot towels, pre-departure drinks, and complimentary catering. On the London route, it's a €60 add-on to a €119.99 base fare; on Mallorca and Malaga, it's bundled into BIZclass fares from €199.99. Lufthansa, the parent, sticks with standard Euro Business blocked-middle seats on its own premium short-haul routes.

American Airlines is reconfiguring its narrowbody fleet to increase premium seating from 25% to 40%. The A319 and A320 will gain an extra First Class row, bringing them to 12 and 16 seats respectively. The 737 MAX 10 will debut with 24 First Class seats, and the A321neo will also see an increase. Main Cabin Extra expansion covers most of the fleet, though exact numbers are unspecified. For award travelers, more premium seats on these planes could mean more competitive award space, especially on domestic routes like LAX-JFK or DFW-ORD, where these aircraft operate.
