Delta's new Austin-Paris nonstop starts March 27, 2027, and the award pricing is a perfect mirror of the cash fare. Delta One round trip costs 990,400 SkyMiles plus $228 — a result of dynamic pricing locking awards to a fixed ratio of the $11,564 cash ticket, not a glitch. Across Main Classic at 151,600 miles, Premium Select at 437,700, and Delta One at 990,400, all cabins land between 1.01 and 1.15 cents per mile, a tight band. The TakeOff 15 discount from any Delta co-branded Amex card drops Delta One to about 841,800 miles, moving the value to roughly 1.35 cents per mile. Starting October 22, 2026, Scotiabank Momentum Visa Infinite+ cardholders using Chexy for rent or tax payments will see their 4% cash back drop to the card's 1% purchase rate. Uber is trimming Uber One ride rewards from 6% to 5% back in credits within the next few weeks. The 1% reduction hits habitual users hardest. Today's approvals lock in the December 17 merger date. Asiana exits Star Alliance on December 16, and the frequent flier program integration remains unresolved. Any Asiana miles you hold could face an uncertain conversion rate or redemption landscape after that date. The time to act on those awards is before the merger, not after.

Etihad Guest now lets you book Starlux awards at a flat rate: Osaka to Taipei is 30,000 miles in business, while Taipei to Hong Kong is 12,000 in economy or 25,000 in business. That same chart applies to every Etihad partner, which means the value holds only on very short hops. On longer segments like the Osaka-Taipei route, the cost is steep compared to what other programs charge for the same cabin. The pattern is clear: Etihad's partner awards work best for sub-1,000-mile flights where the fixed chart undercuts dynamic pricing elsewhere.

Avios.com now shows Iberia and British Airways award availability a month at a time, a real step up from the finicky week-by-week searches on both airline sites. Searching Madrid to JFK for two in business class surfaced multiple February days with at least two seats, sometimes on two separate flights. But you can't book through Avios.com - the site only finds availability, then sends you to Iberia.com or BritishAirways.com to book. Taxes and fees are absent, so you'll need the airline site for the total, and BA's surcharge-reduction option via extra Avios remains a separate consideration.

American Airlines adds four international routes between September 2026 and March 2027, with ORD-Narita returning on a daily 787-9 and JFK-Tel Aviv resuming daily 777-200ER service. PHX-Oaxaca is limited to four A320 departures around Day of the Dead, while MIA-Cap-Haitien goes daily on a 737-800. Pricing is 75,000 Atmos points each way from LAX, SFO, ONT and SEA, and 85,000 points from PHX, plus modest taxes. Availability spans July 2026 through June 2027, with some dates offering up to four seats per flight. This is the easiest way to book Starlux business class with points, and Bilt points transfer 1:1 to Atmos.

Starting Sept. 20, 2026, the Chase Freedom Flex loses its cellphone protection benefit. Currently, cardholders get up to $800 per claim ($50 deductible) for damage or theft, max two claims per year. If you rely on this, move your wireless bill to another card before Sept. 20. Options include the no-annual-fee Wells Fargo Active Cash ($600 per claim), or premium cards like Amex Platinum, Capital One Venture X, or Ink Business Preferred (up to $1,000). Don't leave a gap in coverage.

American Express is narrowing which Peacock subscriptions trigger the Amex Platinum's up to $25 monthly digital entertainment credit. Starting Aug. 1, bundled Peacock subscriptions, add-on services, and Peacock purchased through a third party will no longer qualify. Only stand-alone Peacock subscriptions bought directly from Peacock remain eligible. The $300 annual ceiling on the credit stays unchanged.
